Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya

The Department of Bengali at Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya offers undergraduate programmes that have evolved from the traditional three-year degree structure to the CBCS framework, and presently to the UG 4-year system under NEP 2020, comprising Major, Minor, and Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) in accordance with university guidelines. The department is committed to nurturing linguistic, literary, and cultural understanding among students while promoting academic excellence. It actively organizes a variety of academic and cultural programmes, including the celebration of Rabindra Jayanti and International Mother Language Day (Matribhasha Diwas), along with seminars, group discussions, and student presentations. Through continuous internal assessment, academic guidance, and supportive learning practices, the department strives to enhance students’ critical thinking, creativity, and overall academic development.
