About the Department

Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya

The Department of Political Science of Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya was established in 2011 with the aim of providing quality undergraduate education in Political Science. Initially, under the traditional B.A. Part I+II+III system, the department offered both Honours and Pass courses. With the introduction of the CBCS system in 2017–2018, it offered courses under DSC, DSE, SEC, and GE categories. Following the implementation of NEP 2020 and NCCF 2023, the department now offers Political Science as Major, Minor, and MDC (Multi-Disciplinary Course). The department is affiliated with Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and functions in accordance with the guidelines of the West Bengal Higher Education Council.
