The Department of Education was established in 2017 with the introduction of the UG CBCS 3-year Honours Course from the 2017–18 academic session, which continued up to the 2022–23 session. With the implementation of the new undergraduate framework, the department started the UG NCCF 4-Year programme from the 2023–24 academic session, offering Major, Minor, and Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) in accordance with the revised curriculum structure.
The department is committed to promoting academic excellence and fostering an understanding of educational principles among students. It regularly organizes various academic and commemorative programmes to enrich students’ learning experiences. Important events conducted by the department include the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, National Education Day, and seminars and academic discussions on relevant educational themes.
