UG Admission Procedure (CAP-2026)

1. General Eligibility

A candidate from the vocational stream may pursue a maximum of 3 years under a Major Course, provided he/she/they have passed the qualifying examination.

2. Admission to Physical Education & NCC

Admission to Physical Education and NCC courses is provisional, subject to:

  • Passing the required physical fitness test
  • Completion of other prescribed formalities

3. Important Rule on Environmental Studies / Education

  • Marks obtained in Compulsory Environmental Studies / Environmental Education
    will NOT be considered for:

    • Aggregate marks calculation
    • Merit list preparation
    • Tie-breaking rules
  • However, if a candidate has studied Environmental Science as an elective subject (100 marks) at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level,
    then the marks obtained in that subject may be considered for aggregate and merit calculation.

4. Merit Calculation

A. If the candidate has studied the specific subject in 10+2:

Merit will be calculated based on:

  • Percentage marks in the concerned subject (weighted)
  • Percentage marks in English
  • Percentage marks in the concerned subject
  • Total marks in top 2 subjects
    (excluding English, Environmental Studies, Environmental Education)

B. If the candidate has NOT studied the specific subject in 10+2:

  • Total marks in top 4 subjects (including English)
  • Excluding Environmental Studies / Environmental Education

5. Tie-Breaking Rules

In case of a tie in merit score, the following criteria will be applied:

  1. Higher aggregate percentage in top 4 subjects
    (excluding Environmental Studies / Environmental Education)
  2. Higher aggregate percentage in top 5 subjects
    (excluding Environmental Studies / Environmental Education)
  3. Higher marks in Class X (Madhyamik or equivalent)
  4. Date of Birth (priority will be given as per ascending order)

6. Important Note

All admissions are conducted as per the guidelines of the University and Government regulations under CAP-2026. Candidates are advised to carefully follow all instructions during the admission process.
